La Vie Boheme

La Vie Boheme

I remember it clearly in my foyer of my childhood home, tall fluffy luxe Pampas Grass in a vintage green glass vessel. It was a popular 70s home décor trend, and it is back; Pampas Grass is making a resurgence, popping up everywhere from interiors to weddings. Pampas grass (Cortaderia Selloana) is a South American plant native to Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Pampas Grass was first introduced to the USA in Santa Barbara, California in 1848. It grows feathery plume grass in shades of white, beige, and pink. I fell in love again with Pampas Grass spending a great deal of time in California where it grows in abundance. It only made sense as I transformed Frivolous to reflect a California Casual feel, and sought out products with that laid back aesthetic, that Pampas Grass would be a part of Frivolous. I love the texture of it and that it is a natural and sustainable material. I love that it can be used to add interest and height to an empty corner or as a whimsical centerpiece on a table or add a layer of texture to any décor. No matter your décor style, vintage bohemian, airy and beachy, minimalist/Scandi, neutral or electric and colourful – Pampas Grass works!

Whether you are planning a wedding or looking for a simple and inexpensive way to refresh and elevate your space then pampas grass is it and it is not going anywhere soon.
